Context is important.

Average home prices in parts of Toronto, for example, are currently $1.5 million for a detatched home. Five years ago, they were closer to $850,000.

A 14% drop means those houses will now sell for... almost $1.3 million.

What they do from there is guesswork, but context is important.

Vancouver homes are down 43% in July
