The people don't yet realize there is an alternate agenda. Completely blind to it. That could be changing now, with hell to pay if it does. The big problem with false narratives... you can trip over your own lies. They built up a great big lie, only to find themselves trapped by it. Talked themselves into a corner, so to speak. Desperate for a way out, they just tried to jump the shark, and landed right on top of it instead. Now they may be eaten by it.
