Some boomer just B-lined into my store in such a presumptuous way I almost thought he was looking to cause a scene or something. I’m sitting out front, doesn’t acknowledge me in the least, bolts suddenly inside. I’ve noticed this trope here. The boomers come in like they’re my boss and I should keep on my toes or something. ‘I could buy this place’ if I was bored enough’, I swear I could heard this trad boomer saying in his head. Then he’s like ‘you know I gotta say, $42? That seems ridiculous for a t shirt’.’ The worst is when they don’t have a clue what they are buying and still are so sure the price isn’t justified. Capitol records, 70s dead stock thin tee shirt should have been $60-100, but in boomer land I’m ripping him off because t shirts at Walmart are 20 or under. They don’t understand scarcity unless it’s a classic car.

Why would anyone complain if they pick it up and see the price? Jut put it the fuck down and leave. Complaining about someone else complaining makes no sense. Stop complaining. Oh shit. I just did it . Damnit.

I don’t know, Timmy.

I think it’s a boomer thing.

If they don’t like the price the price must be wrong, in my experience with them.

I’ve gotten into lengthy conversations about what gives certain vintage clothing high value with boomers and most of them cede no ground in comprehending my position, even if I can show them a shirt that just sold online somewhere for the same or higher price.
