Well, I sold a smart thermostat I got on a steal of a deal. At the time, it retailed on Amazon and at Home Depot for $199.99 or so. I sold it on eBay for $90 because I basically had nothing into and wanted the fast cash. I made it clear in the description that I’m selling hardware and not tech support. I made it clear these things require someone trained to install it, especially with a c-wire and all that jazz. I even messages this fucker after he paid, asking if he understands he may need someone who is a pro to install it. That I don’t take returns. That it’s brand new and sealed in the box. Wel, this faggot messages me saying it doesn’t work and that he had his buddy who is good with electronics look at it. The. he said it’s broken and missing wires. He makes a claim. I dispute it with all the records I had. As a seller, you lose every time on eBay. The money was pulled from my account and I never got the unit back. Well, I had this fuckers name, phone number, address….his username was the same on many platforms…….I gave him one chance to apologize and at the very least send the unit back. He told me I can “kiss off” and he was calling the police. No problem. I’ll just wait a year until this event is out of his head. And that’s what I did. I’m not going to say if I just sent him a mean letter or anything else. But I do feel better now.
