Possibly I guess but wouldn’t even those suffer from the problem of more and more things being automated to the point of not needing human labor at all. General AI is scary
Perhaps, but living off-world and on a floating platform will require people to push themselves to pursue more adaptable productive educations and trade skills. Sure, we'll have less foreign cabbies, and floor mops, but more people are going to have to learn tech and hardware to service it.
Thats a future I could get on board with.
In the end, I doubt the machines will even employ force or fear when they take over. We'll have long ago given them the keys simply in recognition of the fact that they're better able to deliver on lofty promises without personal bias. Their presence will force us to become better people.
