I see automation as potentially one of the biggest problems the West is facing, I’ve yet to hear one potential solution that might actually work long term.

Possibly I guess but wouldn’t even those suffer from the problem of more and more things being automated to the point of not needing human labor at all. General AI is scary

Perhaps, but living off-world and on a floating platform will require people to push themselves to pursue more adaptable productive educations and trade skills. Sure, we'll have less foreign cabbies, and floor mops, but more people are going to have to learn tech and hardware to service it.
