Amazing that an actual "Bitcoin site" states that the coins were on the machine instead of correctly saying that the keys to the wallet they are in were on it.

Idiocracy is real.

Also: It has been known for people to lie about "losing" Bitcoins for various reasons. Just saying.

Like staying in the mainstream limelight. Mia Khalifa wore a mask with dogshit on it just for click revenue.

I mean do people really think Alex Jones has $400M in Bitcoin?

[–] 0 pt

He just decided to copy the last couple of idiots who made the headlines for losing huge sums now that BTC is setting all time highs.

so you can cold store bitcoins on computers now?

_____

everything about this sounds super fake

[–] 1 pt

From what I understand you still can. It's just easier to go through something like coinbase for the tech-unsavvy

Fucking smart jew Alex Jones pretends to lose a laptop with bitcoin on it (knowing all too well that stupid fuckwits will believe that losing a laptop could have any effect whatsoever on the accessability of those crypto currencies.

Want to know what this really is?

yes?

I will tell you. This is one of just a few things.

1: This is a tax dodge. The most likely thing that was done here was a tax dodge. This shit will be more and more common. Pay 10 million bucks a month in taxes on your crypto bag or pay someone to "steal" it from you for 1%. They get rich you get to keep your money and pedo blackmain keeps it all trustworthy.

2: This is a way to take the money off the grid. No officer... that crypto was stolen from me. The coke imported it must have been by the fine upstanding mexican who took it... Not me!

3: This was a payment made in some way for something.

That doesn't make any sense at all. He wouldn't owe any taxes until he sold the bitcoin. He probably owed taxes on the original gift of 10K bitcoins though.

This doesn't help him take anything "off the grid" at all. If he still had access to the bitcoin, he couldn't do much with it unless he found someone who was willing to trade it and not report the transaction. Drug dealers maybe, but then what would he do with millions of dollars of cocaine?

This story is probably true, neither Jones nor Keiser have any reason to lie about it. But it's also Keiser's fault for not backing up the keys though.

... Ummhmm Sure. If I wanted to make my crypto go away and I was a famous person I would do this and make it public. The issue is he told everyone. Why the hell would you do that? Makes no sense. Naw, thats not lost. Write down the actual blocks of those coins and watch if they move in the future. I bet they do move in the future and they will do it tax free.

Alternatively they are a payoff. Want to not get wacked? Time to "lose" your btc to the dude with the machine gun. He is protected and you simply have to 'look stupid on TV'.

But Max Keiser is a hard core bitcoin evangelist. If anything, he would be lie and say he never gave Alex Jones those bitcoins.

I'm sure someone will try, but they might not even be able to trace the coins without his help. That size transaction was not unusual 10 years ago, so you have no idea which transaction was related to those coins. Especially if they came from a defunct exchange like MtGox.

There is most likely nothing funny going on here. Lots of people permanently lost access to their bitcoin keys early on. The estimates are in the millions of bitcoins.

He had 10k worth of bit coins not 10k actually bit coins no fucking way

[–] 0 pt

I'm pretty sure the article says 10 bitcoins worth $500 million--who would care if a rich guy lost $10k?

[–] 0 pt

Yah mane mah boi Alex keep meh rock hard

That picture is perfect.
