I took this throwaway picture of the mallards while I was hiking today. I didn't even see the pair of wood ducks off to the right hiding in the brush. We don't get a whole lot of wood ducks around here, but I have been noticing more of them the past few years.

Next time I'm out that way I'll have to keep a sharper eye and see if I can get a better picture.

I honestly don't know how I missed them. I guess I was so focused on mallard on the left. I was thinking of cropping the shot around him.

All in all it was a good day for a birding hike. Saw some bluebirds and red-winged blackbirds which I really enjoy.

I feel that. I'm not really proud of this shot at the very least it would have been nice to close up the aperture and get all the ducks in focus. Even then, not the greatest composition.

I'm struggling with a lot of my bird shots as my 200mm lens makes it tough to get close enough in most situations. I still like to get out and do what I can.
