It seems pretty simple. Does the form indicate income of less than 400,000? If yes, then don't audit.

Let's be serious for a second though. With 86,000 new IRS agents versus the ~2.8 million people who make over 400k, that breaks down to 32 tax returns per agent assuming that they are auditing ALL 2.8 million of them.

That makes it a ridiculous idea to expect the IRS to use the agents ONLY for what Biden had claimed. They would have absolutely nothing to do for 99% of the year.

I'm pretty sure the 87000 agents don't exist. How would anybody know? That's a lot of people. Where is the infrastructure they had to build to accommodate a small city? We're talking multiple skyscrapers here.

It's the government. They are ALWAYS able to find more leeches to suck wealth from the rest of us. That's basically a law when it comes to government.
