Agree, but it was situated in the basement all those years and the cold water pipes sweat and dripped on it in the humidity of summer.... so the top had rust on ir, did not look pretty and you couldn't really spread clothes on it for fear of getting rust on them. So I bought her a new top load washer.

Good to take care of mom. If the newer one shoots craps the old rusty one will probably still get clothes clean. Moot now....
