This sub is intended to share and discuss groups and artists that went from being "good" (innovative, creative, complex, lyrically immersive) to being "bad" (unimaginative, formulaic, simplistic, repetitive) but are more well-known for their "bad" period.
These terms are very subjective, so hopefully people will post a comment with any submissions that gives a little context... what song did they do from their "bad" period that shows a good contrast, something like that.
The only rule is this: "No Rush."
I am an old fart. The first 6 Rush albums are my favorites. I did not like one song from them starting with "Hold Your Fire." But they did not change to a sucky band, they continued being excellent in every way. They just made music that I didn't enjoy. But they never compromised for the sake of popularity.
Other than that, please post some music to showcase "the other side" of some popular artists!
