Streaming-only broadcasts certainly fit the direction the MLB is taking
That direction, making changes none of the fans want!
This is the craziest thing I've ever heard. I listen to either part or all of each game. I'd say a good 80% of them. When I do watch the game on TV, I synch up the radio audio. All the arguments she makes are spot on.
I have paid for the MLB audio stream the last two seasons. I'm unsure if I'll pick it up this year again, but I likely will. Still the radio is the way to go 90% of the time.
Makes no sense to me. The radio stations pay to broadcast and why limit the audience?
No sense at all.
“The primary motivation for this endeavor is around fan development, marketing, and really understanding how that can acquire new fans,”
Having baseball on the radio does not stop them from marketing their stream. How does limiting your product's availability help you acquire new fans? This guy is a moron.
