I have the same breed. I think it is my favorite. Yours looks to be male based on the tooth and skull length. I have a male also that's just a couple years old. I also have a female that is the smartest cat I've ever encountered. She is getting up there in age, but still manages to do parkour now and then - a common behavior of the breed. Another common, but more low-key behavior is dipping their paw into their water several times and then licking the water off of the paw prior to drinking directly from the bowl.
Also, yes, he's a he and is about 11 years old. Still very active, playful, and even hunts from time to time. We've taken good care of him since he joined our household. When we got him he was dying from fleas and dehydration. After putting him on a wet food only diet and treating him with Frontline he snapped right back.
You should post a picture of them. :)
