A horrific incident occurred Sunday morning on a United Airlines flight from Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, to New York, which caused the 104 passengers to be evacuated.
No injuries have been reported. Passengers reportedly used the emergency slide to exit the plane on the runway.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Steve Kuhlm said in a statement, “The crew of United Airlines Flight 1382 safely aborted its takeoff from the George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport in Texas due to a reported engine issue around 8:35 a.m. local time on Sunday, Feb. 2. Passengers deplaned on the runway and were bused to the terminal. The Airbus A319 was flying to LaGuardia Airport in New York. The FAA will investigate. Contact the airline for additional information.”
Passengers could be heard panicking after an engine on the right wing of the plane caught ablaze.
“Please, please, please get us off of here,” one woman could be heard saying as the flight attendant said over the intercom, “Please remain seated until further instructions by the captain.”
“No, it’s on fire!” one man hollered.
One passenger recorded a video from the interior of the plane.
