The most fucked up thing about this story is the reminder that Harry Reid has an airport named after him. Fuck that piece of shit.
They were not maintaining tire inflation I am guessing. Didn't we see another case of that recently? Someone is falsifying inspection and work documents and the airline does not have adequate controls in place to detect this until the tire bursts into flames.
I listened to the ATC. They even lost radio contact with it in the air. It was an engine fire while it was in the air from what I could gather. Probably still a maintenance issue, but the tires probably popped from the flaming engine.
Hard landing.. pilot induced? Gear failure?
