The tower probably told the incoming to land on 24R, not bothering to look out the window and see the plane on 24R that they just told to take off.

“Our pilot handled it really well. You know, she obviously got the plane to a safe place and got us back down on the ground just fine

Alternate scenario:

Tower: land on 06R

Pilot: mmm hmmm

tower: can you confirm?

pilot: don’t mansplain what runway to me. I already did

tower: pilot, I need confirmation of runway 06R

Pilot: you’re not listening to me. I already told you I heard you, and this is unacceptable harassment. You wouldn’t be badgering me if I were a man. I went to pilot school you dumb tower jockey, which means I am a lot more capable of getting those plane where it needs to go
