We are not far from no longer needing pilots at all, fighter jets will not even have a pilot in the cockpit soon. The human body cant withstand more than 9gs for very long, so humans are the weak link in this chain. The drones we have up in the air now can stay up for days, soon something like the F-35 could be converted to be all self flying aircraft being controlled from the ground by human personal far from the battle field. Its not far off really, id say by the end of WW!!! in 30 years most the countries will be fighting in Africa with totally automated robot type armies.
