Rumor has it our favorite flying ace here Chuck Yeager actually got a few kills there, not saying anything. No credit given because it was totally illegal. However, it still makes him a triple ace!!! I thought he did a good job. After the movie “right stuff” came out my local commanders where agitated and angry. I asked why? The answer was “that son of a bitch yeager came in here, kicked ass and didn’t take names” he didn’t care about any one of us or how well we did our jobs. he just wanted to destroy us like he had a chip on his shoulder. (apparently he hated college educated officers, of which he was surrounded.)
