My girlfriend at the time was a family friend of the owner. Carl Schol if I remember correctly. He was taking up a bunch of paying passengers. She told him that I was a USAF Flight Engineer. He invited me along, he said go hide in the tail gunner position, the paying passengers will be up front. It was so much fun!

Edit: he told me that they used to load up 55 gallon barrels full of water in the bomb bay and drop them on his property out in the desert for fun. Borrego Springs I think.

Edit: at the time I rode her she was in the livery of the pacific princess, the navy version of the b-25, the PBJ-A1H

Dropping water drums out of a B-25 for fun sounds like my kind of a good time.

Cool story, solid content, thanks for sharing.
