I gave my son my F-250, with the plow and broadcast sander. So, I'll be buying a new plow truck and it will (again) be a diesel. It's probably going to be another F-250 Super Duty.
They're good truck they cold start better than most. Off road is very good. My only real issue is the aluminum bed. I've already seen holes punched in one.
Get a new superduty or at least a newer one that has the 6.7. The previous gen engines are absolutely atrocious
The bed being made of aluminum doesn't really bother me much. In the winter, it will have the worst of it - when it holds a broadcast sander and has the plow mounted. The rest of the year, it won't be doing much except maybe holding some tires, a grill, a box of spare parts, and towing a car trailer.
It'll also be in a heated garage, so starting it isn't a problem. It'll be plugged in, just in case. Where I live, we're kinda used to plugging things in during the winter. You just kinda get used to it after the first winter here.
So, yeah... Just plowing and sanding will be the heavy work. It'll tow, but it's only going to tow a single car hauler with a stripped out Impreza on it. That's not exactly going to tax it, even in the mountains.
I wish I could like you buddha but you've been such a dick to me for so many years and your friends have always been abusive and focused on destroying me.
Maybe in another life, but I dont think I can forgive your rampant negativity and desire to shit on the souls of others.
You'll be fine then. With the new 6.7 idling is bad for them because of the DEF system. If you dont care about warranty, delete it. I delete emissions crap and tune my diesels
