I have to go with one of the Bourne movies, probably the first one.

As tempting as it is to go for a 'car' movie, or even a movie about racing, I love the driving done for the Bourne movies - so I'll go with the first of them. All the driving was done by a real driver, without the aid of CGI. The kind of precision driving that requires, along with the inability to damage too many vehicles beforehand, means the skills of the stunt drivers were exceptional.

Yeah, I gotta go with The Bourne Identity. It's truly exceptional driving.

If it had been plural, I'd have said the whole damned series - but the series with that bald-headed action star (Fast and Furious, I think?) has some pretty sweet driving in it, as well.

(Pardon me, if I'm not here long. I may fall asleep.)

1980 Ford LTD

Also , dissing the holy panther platform is a sin

However, they built MILLIONS of those damned things and they were pretty shitty cars.

God damn you. This is blasphemous

LOL

Sad but true, modern cars are more awesome.

Well, I am not necessarily fond of the looks, but some modern cars are still sexy.

As a whole, with the rise in regulations and fuckery we have streets filled with awful numb crossovers and SUVs that dont deserve that moniker.

Toyota is the biggest offender.

Honda hasn't made a fun car with maybe a handful of exceptions since the 1990s.

I refuse to even consider german vehicles , I have had newer Mercedes and BMW leave me on a flatbed a few times.

At least the old cars can be fixed with roadside tinkering, these new ones need to be towed every time something goes wrong.

It sorta depends - but, yeah... Today, it's easier to repair with a swap and replace, but you can still bang a starter and get it going.

There's goods and bads with it, like the easier diagnostics done with modern stuff. Also, I love me some German cars.

If it's not obvious, I own a fairly modest (but growing substantially) car collection. They're all working and/or restored cars and kept in a climate controlled building that looks like a barn but is just really one of those steel buildings you can buy and have put up for you. I'm having two more erected this spring and I also have a six bay garage with one bay being over-size and with a lift in it.

I think one of the reasons that I'm attracted to automobiles is that there's absolutely no way I can ever know everything about them. There's always so much more for me to learn.

So, I plan on using this sub - eventually. I made it 'cause then it may motivate me to actually use it. There will be some duplicate content with Voat, but I'll make sure to keep some stuff unique to either site.

Another great thing about cars is that it doesn't actually take a lot of money to get into them. You can buy a cheap Mazda MX-5/Miata and take it straight to your next track day and have a blast with it and drive it to work all week. There's amateur rallycross and autocross events - probably within an easy drive of your location. There are countless clubs and sanctioning bodies.

There's tons of ways to get involved, including just volunteering. Those people manning the corners at your local track? They're volunteers and get the best seat in the house. Also, you can steal bits that fell off the crashed cars and hang 'em on the wall of your garage! You can't rip pieces off - but whatever falls off is usually fair game.
