I have to go with one of the Bourne movies, probably the first one.

As tempting as it is to go for a 'car' movie, or even a movie about racing, I love the driving done for the Bourne movies - so I'll go with the first of them. All the driving was done by a real driver, without the aid of CGI. The kind of precision driving that requires, along with the inability to damage too many vehicles beforehand, means the skills of the stunt drivers were exceptional.

Yeah, I gotta go with The Bourne Identity. It's truly exceptional driving.

If it had been plural, I'd have said the whole damned series - but the series with that bald-headed action star (Fast and Furious, I think?) has some pretty sweet driving in it, as well.

(Pardon me, if I'm not here long. I may fall asleep.)

You're correct, it does star Steve McQueen. The story isn't particularly groundbreaking, but the car chases are absolutely iconic.
Watch the clip I linked to see what I mean.

And if I'm not mistaken, you're the guy that did the Blind Melon - No Rain cover that I enjoyed so much.

I have it on my "to watch" list, and will get to it this winter. So, I'll skip the clip to avoid any spoilers.

And, yes, I am that guy. 'Snot a very difficult song to play and COF let me know you'd enjoyed it. I was going to thank you for your kind words, but that was the day Poal decided that I was a second-class citizen and ate my password and refused to let me reset it by email.

What's your favorite kind of music?

Over the past 2+ years, I've had a weekly guitar thread over on Voat. That's a whole lot of things that I've recorded just for interested parties. It has to be in the 'hundreds' by now, though I suspect COF would have a more accurate number, or at least an approximation.

Outstanding! It's really great to meet you.
While I do have a Voat account, I never spent much time there. It seems I got to that party late, and by then the place was inundated with people I didn't want to interact with.

As for my favorite kind of music......that's tough to pin down. The easiest label would be what we called "classic rock" in the 80s and 90s (Floyd, Zepplin, The Guess Who, Supertramp) but I have a lot of love for the 70s singer/songwriter balladeers, early hip-hop, R&B, soul, funk...lots of funk...Basically everything apart from gospel and late heavy metal spinoffs, though there are a couple exceptions in those genres too.

I have no idea what to share with you next, so how about some Ozzy?

It's not as much fun, 'cause you're only hearing the two guitar parts - but wait for it and it gets significantly more impressive.

If you're interested in joining us for the Friday Night Guitar Thread, it starts every Friday at 8pm et, and is fairly active for several hours, in v/guitar and will be stickied. We leave the last thread stickied until the new one starts.

In addition, we have a site just for the thread, completely separate from Voat, that among other topics has an archive of all the tracks submitted since the start in https://fngt.gq/forum/. There is also a search function that works well for song titles as well as artists (just search on username).

If you play any instrument at any skill level we'd love to have you submit tracks, or just join us for comments and merriment. Our loose 'motto' is "Be part of something you love instead of the things you hate". Although a scant few users stop by with some juvenilistic comment, it is almost completely free of anything more than people who enjoy homemade music and like to share it. I look forward to it each week as it is just a fun time without the clamor of the daily noise. Hope you can stop by sometime.

Also, I found it!

I realize this is kinda late - but I found it!

When trying to think of songs we'd done that you'd also like, seeing as you were a fan of the Blind Melon song, I tried to link you to a few others but none of them seemed really appropriate.

Well, I was just listening to a track and sharing it with the goats to promote that there's a guitar thread tonight and it dawned on me... This is something you'll probably really enjoy!

So, I came all the way over here, dug through old messages, and finally found your comment (as I couldn't remember your username). I speak to a whole lot of people and it takes quite a few interactions before I'll remember your username. So, it's nothing personal. It's just bad memory for these sorts of things.

Anyhow, on with the show!

That's something that's probably a song you'll enjoy. The quality is there, the melody is there, and the song is probably familiar and it's from around the same time and genre.

You're right, I really do like that. Thank you!
