I posted yesterday about the outdoor plug on his channel. I got a new USB2serial adapter today since mine is old as hell and apparently has one of those counterfeit "proliant" chips so it behaves oddly. After hooking it all up today it took me all of 10 minutes to get the device flashed, in HomeAssistant(HASS) and to configure automations to turn on/off.
Now the outdoor lights/decorations can be controlled from our HASS system and trigger on any conditions that are in the system (I can use motion detection from my security cameras to trigger actions too, kind of neat).
The guy's channel has a bunch of other stuff on it so I figured I would post it.
