A re-flash to ESPHome so you can do anything you want with it without having to use Wyze apps or backend.

From the post:

>Why do we need a bluetooth proxy for Home Assistant? The answer is simple! Sometimes Bluetooth Low-Energy devices have craptastic range. Many of us have spend time, effort, and money to build out excellent Wi-Fi coverage in our homes and even backyards. So why not harness the power of this coverage and use it to communicate with Bluetooth devices. This is exactly what Bluetooth Proxies do! You can put some SwitchBot temperature sensors in the backyard or even a Bluetooth pool sensor in the pool and have all the data automatically brought into Home Assistant. Any many other Bluetooth HA compatible devices. While you can easily place a NodeMCU ESP32 board outdoors to accomplish this, it might not always be ideal for cosmetic reasons or even for water proofing reasons.

I had some stupidly overpaid years installing wyze thin clients in healthcare institutions and hospitals. I miss that stress free nonsense.

You never installed a Wyze thin client, you did however install WYSE clients.

That said, I installed many of the old ones before wyse bought that jew company out of Dallas. I had to flash fucking rom chips. Then the flasher died. Winnt4

Hah yeah, I have messed with those. I was trying to get local hardware acceleration working but with remote rendering/etc in VMWare. It never really worked right.

You know you can't get a bunch of Government workers to buy-in to thin clients if they can't watch Youtube when they should be working....

God I fucking hated working in government.

My models were likely before that. Wyseterm was the logo on the front but couldn’t find the model on the webz

For Context. I have one of these and decided to pull it out of the box and flash it today.

It is not behaving but ill either force it to or give it away to someone that will use the crappy Wyze app. It's getting to be that time of the year when you want to control outdoor lights and I have had this thing sitting in a box for over a year and I am just now getting to it.

I found that my old usb2serial device is considered "fake" so I grabbed a different one. It seems to be "trying". Even on *nix the "fake one" (that I have used plenty before) didn't work to flash it so I am wondering if I just have a bad plug.

Oh well. It is going to work or not work. If it fails to flash I will get something else or build it myself. Like usual.
