Not bad. I would like to see more brands start using matter/threads since it would make them a lot easier to integrate in Home Assistant.

From the post:

>Ikea is relaunching its smart home line in a move that will make its low-cost products work with other brands, with or without Ikea’s own hub. Starting in January, the Swedish furniture giant will release more than 20 new Matter-over-Thread smart lights, sensors, and remotes with “more new product types and form factors to come,” David Granath of Ikea of Sweden, tells The Verge in an exclusive interview.

Supporting matter/threads is cheap if you are using something like HomeAssistant. Even then. I am having to support like 3 different systems. I would like to see things be a little more consolidated so that the hardware ("smart devices") could be setup to use any one or all of the protocols. The hardware is nearly the same (At least for now).

Yeah I need to add another radio to my HASS setup…

Matter/threads is a protocol. It works over much of the existing hardware as long as the company is willing to support it.

Yes, but you need a thread radio somewhere in the system. I currently only support zigbee because those sensors are so cheap it's not funny.

The Skyconnect ZBT-1 was supposed to be a dual protocol radio, but it didn't work out.
