I don't have any experience with these but if they work well with Home Assistant it would be a cheap source for sensors.

That's why I use HomeAssistant. Everything is local-only. I am the only one with access to the data.

Even a modicum of due diligence in securing a WSN, let alone a home WSN, is going to be a difficult task. However, folks still leave their routers with default passwords, so who knows.
