The single most important duty of government is to keep the people safe.

I'd like to object to that statement. To the extend of FUCK YOU Michael West, YOU STATIST PIECE OF SHIT! The role of the government is to FUCK OFF and LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE! You CANNOT keep people safe, ever. Everyone dies eventually and the efforts to keep people safe ALWAYS result in ALL of their human rights being utterly trampled by the same government, for their own safety.

Life has risk. Everyone will die.

The single most important role of government is to ensure that the God given rights of its people are not infringed, but the government themselves or anyone else. That's it. The government cannot keep me safe, because it does not have my best interest at heart, and even if it purported to, it could not know what my best interests are.
