I have 2 jobs, one full time and one part time. Both subject to vaccine mandates at the the start of next year.
I have told my bosses of my intention to quit at the deadline date of the 2nd jab requirement. I will stay til the end, but will not fight the government or my employers. I believe any employer can fire any employee for any reason anyway. I will not risk my savings in a legal battle where I will lose and pay for the defendants legal fees. The high court ruling has given employers the upper hand anyway, so to fight them is a losing battle. And I need some time off anyway to reasses my career and goals.
My part time job boss was sympathetic and said something to the effect of "stay to the end, the company might change their position, you'll never know". He understands my position of not being jabbed (I'm only 1 of 2 in the company out of estimate 50 workers who didn't get the jab).
My full time job boss was more supportive. He said he spoke to his boss and told me not to quit and that they will let me work in an office full of vaccinated co-workers, despite there being direct company wide emails from head of HR that unvaccinated workers will be fired at the deadline. So my boss and his boss are very supportive, despite them being vaccinated. And they are going against HR directive.
I told them that I will work as long as they allow me, but realistic to the fact that the ruling can change anytime, either by the government or the company heads. But I was surprised that a middle manager and his director was standing up for me.
I think the change in sentiment might be Brad Hazzard's plan to jab 5-11 year olds by the end of the year. Most of my workmates have children and I did sense a change of attitude towards me around September when the government was ramping up the vaccine messaging. They probably thought I was one of the conspiratard anti-vaxxers and being selfish and not doing my part. There was a change of sentiment when I was around during online meetings. I didn't discuss my thoughts about the vaccines, except for general "I don't know the long term side-effects" quips here and there.
I feel like the plan to jab children has finally jolted compliers and they are now more sympathetic as to why I didn't comply. They can now see the medico's "grand strategy" is bullshit and bound to fail. And that their compliance is part of the problem.
