If they don't respond to the random government text within 15 minutes and send their geolocation or picture of face, the police show up. Unbelievable.

People in South Australia will be forced to download an app that combines facial recognition and geolocation. The state will text them at random times, and thereafter they will have 15 minutes to take a picture of their face in the location where they are supposed to be. Should they fail, the local police department will be sent to follow up in person. “We don’t tell them how often or when, on a random basis they have to reply within 15 minutes,” Premier Steven Marshall explained. “I think every South Australian should feel pretty proud that we are the national pilot for the home-based quarantine app.”

Hans.. go get the you know what..

That is truly fucked up on a whole new level. What if you don't have a phone? Jail?

This is also interesting, what if the system "fails" and phones them at 3 in the morning and they dont reply? Are they gonna swat the house because the person was asleep? What if the person is in the hospital and in an incapacitated state, are they gonna assume guilt or will the hospital coordinate with this app somehow? There are so many holes in this idea

After my second DUI, court made me put this breathalyzer machine in my house hooked up to the phone line that I had to blow into at random times (sometimes middle of the night). It would also take my picture while doing it, and some jackoff at the court would verify it's me.

The Aussie big brother shit reminds me of that experience...
