If they don't respond to the random government text within 15 minutes and send their geolocation or picture of face, the police show up. Unbelievable.

Why would they text you if you're not moving?

How do they know your battery isn't dead? It's now a crime to not charge your phone?

I guess the cops show up at your house and you can tell them your battery ran out. Text is just random.

It is insane. At what point to Aussies stand up against this. At what point to the police choose not to comply with enforcing this madness?

Sounds like everyone needs to stop replying. Or simply turn off their devices.

It's not like text messages have guaranteed delivery anyways.

Perfect solution. Would make the system worthless. Good luck doing house checks on millions of people each day.

Of course then, they'd probably try and figure out a way to fine you if you don't reply. Which brings up back to how do you force people to have a cell phone and what if it isn't charged.
