  1. they took all the semi auto rifles and shotguns in 1996... now they require a special licence to acquire.
  2. thousands up to a hundred thousand people did NOT hand their rifle(s) in.
  3. there are now more gun owners in Australia than ever... the majority of rifles are bolt action.

  5. there are unknown numbers of people making their own firearms including machine guns.
  6. there are unknown numbers of military grade weapons such as bombs and rocket launchers in the hands of private citizens.

With a bolt action you can trade up to a semi auto or full auto. "Never been fired and only dropped once."
