Superman, for lack of a better term, is a god, but he doesn't require anyone to worship him. He helps those in need regardless of wether they love him or not. He also allows other "gods", i.e. The Justice League, to exist. They could stand against him should he decide to become a tyrant. Superman also allows people to be critical of him. If someone like J. Johanna Jamison were to publicly criticize him, he would take that as a sign that he must stay on the straight and narrow in order to keep the trust people put on him. Superman would also not let evil things happen, and if they do he would feel horrible about it because he could have done more to prevent the loss of life. Should there be an afterlife that Superman was in charge of, he would make sure that only those who commit unspeakable acts of evil would be sent to hell, not those who just didn't like him or those who were not perfect.

Yeah, objective reality is all that matters, what the truth is, whether it's to our fancy or not.

Wait a sec, you just used the term "objective reality" while talking about "god". I don't suppose you see the irony in that?

Objective (what is truth) as opposed to subjective (what men think is truth).

Maybe I don't follow. Unless you're saying that objective reality is a redundant phrase? Which it really is.

I'm still sick, but I've still been drinking too much. Can I ask you to pray for me, my boomer friend?

Absolutely, I never see your name without feeling some affection.
