I think it's still a fundamental misunderstanding what Orthodox Christianity is. I would describe it as Plato's theory of forms if the ultimate good was not just a mechanical and lifeless concept. When you understand this it's not an ultimatum, just a disagreement on what that good actually is. But it's your journey not mine. I'm glad you at least have a thoughtful approach.
