I heard a clip from Derek Prince recently in which he says that the reason we face depression is because our soul is disconnect from the spirit: The spirit's job is to continuously interface with God, and it brings JOY The soul wanders according to our hearts, & that brings happiness and sadness. You can be joyful and sad at the same time... atheists can conceptualize this but they will never feel it. It's impossible without the spirit. When things in our life go according to worldly expectations it brings happiness and it brings sadness & depression when our hearts are disconnect from the godly principles & things are not going well. If you keep your principles in God you will still be joyful but it should keep from getting to suicidal depression when things go horribly wrong in this life. & This is the secret to why so many people face suicidal depression and end up killing themselves. How can you be depressed and claim to be godly at the same time? Sadness & Discouraged maybe... but depressed?
