I regret not seeing him at a symposium here just before his death in the late 2000s, he was a fearless social critic and would have had a lot to say about cancel culture, identity politics and other pervasive ideologies attempting to stifle robust debate and critical, rational thinking.
He was primarily focused on religion at the time due to creationism adopting "science creationism" being a direct affront to science-based teaching.
