My wife was flipping through news articles last night and informed me that several localities are going into a state of emergency due to the eclipse.

Have the men of the world now succumbed to the point of ignorance and unbridled superstitious folly that they now fear a two minute shadow that's been forecasted to take place well in advance? Are the people of the land so pathetic and callow that they must be guarded against harmless celestial events?

Of course they are. I remember the Covidiots. I find myself surprised ihere isn't an "eclipse glasses mandate" for the 72 hours around the event, forcing people to wear them at all times, even when indoors and not looking at the sun, even not during the eclipse. Only for it to be revealed that the glasses gave a false sense of security and half the ones distributed actually were ineffective at preventing blindness.

The places declaring emergencies are doing so because they are small population areas that are expecting a huge influx of outside visitors who want to see the totality event. Some areas are estimating their populations to double due to these visitors which would overwhelm their towns. It's not the darkness or the ignorance driving this declaration of emergency. There are some idiots who fear that, but in this case there really is something that is a threat to these small towns.

correct. Niagara falls says its expecting something like 1 million people flocking there to watch it. To put that in perspective when that dude walked across the falls on a tightrope there were approx 150,000 people there to see it.

Gay. Totally fukin gay.

I wonder how many of these "visitors" will be illegals who will be covertly dropped in these small, mostly conservative towns. This could be an exploit that will enable more invaders to infiltrate White rural areas.

One day soon these "visitors" are going to start "disappearing" under mysterious circumstances, and the world will be a better place for it.

They are declaring emergencies to normalize declaring emergencies for things that obviously are not emergencies. Soon, we will live in a perpetual state of emergency, where anything slightly out of the normal happening will result in a state of emergency, during which your rights will be limited for the common good.

Don't worry Morbo, you will get used to it.

It's nothing but FUD. Covid showed how to make people afraid of nothing, and someone is using that to their advantage.

FUD?

Fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

Not to be confused with "Cat Fud" (pic8.co)

Such a brave little bird, so unconcerned and rational, this little bird ain't afraid...

But let's just wait and see how you react when the big, cold Moon is overheard and it tries to steal your sunshine... (news.cornell.edu)

Little bird might not be so brave then...

Programming for this event has been implemented to correspond with pre-determined tracking.

Rural communities are preparing for a large inrush of idiots from the city for the day. They are expecting people to stop on the highways. They are also expecting people to not bring food, fuel and supplies and expect a town of 100 to feed 10,000. It is like that Bahamas (Firefly)festival when they built no infrastructure before everyone showed up. Difference is no one is paying so they shouldn't expect anything.

To be fair, I have commanded the moon to turn to blood and the rivers to swallow the gays in holy fire.

So there’s that.

Heroic, and epic if it happens.

Hotels in my area have jewed their rates up to be damned. I've seen and met Eurotards and Asiatics that have crossed the seas and descended like a locust horde for the 2 minute show.

Forecast calls for clouds and rain. Bwahahaha!

My schadenfreude has kicked into overdrive.

Moving the Overton Window so society accepts any event to be an emergency. Once that happens, everything will be an emergency.

Oh we won't exploit that says the duplicitous politician. As he calls an emergency to prevent denizens from attending public meetings.

When everything is an emergency, then nothing is...

That's really racist to say that!

I've noticed people acting increasingly strange the past week plus. Part of me thinks there's something to this

It is a legal thing that allows governments to use special funds and increase staffing of first responders. They are planning ahead for the influx of people, I don't see it as being alarmist.

I'm not sure I agree on this one, Titties.

[–] 2 pts

At least we don't have to wait long to find out!
