Lol, he just might.

I don't know I think odds are if life exists elsewhere in the universe on a planet similar to earth I would think it would end up similar due to similar conditions generally produce similar outcomes. Maybe its just a couple thousand years behind us and thats why we haven't picked up any radio waves yet, but like you said all speculation.

Or, even if they are similar, they may have followed some entirely different path in their development that didn't include radio type communications. Who knows what other things are possible, yet still within the bounds of physics, which we haven't explored.

I'm always open to the possibilities of life similar to our own. But as you said, if they do exist, they are most likely to be in an entirely different phase of their technological development. It's unlikely we'd be at the same place in time, so to speak. There's just too many variable for that to be true.

I do enjoy speculating, I would think with the insanely large size of the universe it would be possible some other life forms would have similar technology to us at the same point in time, but the odds of them being close enough for us to pick it up within a reasonable amount of time are basically zero.

Very true. It always amazes me how 'huge' the universe and what little we know of it are. Our puny brains can't even comprehend such numbers. So anything is possible, and likely probable.
