I've seen a couple of posts on these, thank you @level_101 and @stupidbird.

Is anyone here actively using either of these systems? Do you have repeaters setup?

I've looked into both networks in both of my areas of operation, Mt Rainier WA area and Lake Fork TX area. Meshcore has more nodes "closer" to me in WA but neither has any real presance around Lake Fork.

I think these both look pretty interesting, I've watched some jew tube videos and they both have their fans and they both have people who say the other one sucks.

Looking for real world experience if you actually using one or both of these systems.

It seems to me that at some point they will be able to talk to each other as well. Is that realistic?

Not anytime soon. Think Mac vs windows networking in the 1980s. The underlying command structures are to dissimilar. Not to say at some point they won't, it just won't happen soon.
