My father has a habit of losing his phones. He's on his 4th or 5th iPhone in as many years because he keeps losing the fucking things.

Last time I went to his house I thought I struck gold and found his phone, only for him to tell me that the one I found was a backup phone he bought so that he'd have one ready for when he lost his main phone. And that brand new in box backup phone had gotten misplaced and some how ended up in the basement.

Does anyone have any recs on a Bluetooth find my phone device? I have a Garmin watch and use the find my phone function on it all the time. Something like that, but obviously not a $400 smartwatch. Every time I search for something all I get is fucking air tags which is the opposite of what I want.

Something that can be permanently affixed to a table would be great too.

Yeah but getting him to remember a password to log into a website on the computer is a bridge too far. Needs a button somewhere to press to ring the thing.

At this point you should set the password, and you have it.

Then you can get I Timor if and when needed.

And “find my” once shared with a friend or family, you don’t need to login, it’s just there.

I'll set it up, but he usually doesn't tell me that he lost his phone until it's been gone for weeks so it'll be long dead at that point. If he can find it himself I think it'd he'd actually use it. Hopefully anyways.

Find my shows last know location.

Maybe have a talk about safety and telling you as soon as you loose it lets you find?

auto fill passwords is your friend in this case.

You can’t autofill passwords for iCloud on iPhone. Tonya e to set facial or thumb if that old of a device. As for on his end he needs an iPhone to find my, and that’s the same case.

You can find my other web and then password fill. But for opsec you should disable web access to it encrypts that side of it. (((They))) say it’s encrypted but we know it’s not. But it does keep most hackers out of it since they have to compromise the device and can’t just web to the data.

Tile and life360, esp with a backup phone ready to go, is for you.
