An unconventional law? Governmental officials must legally spend a full 672 hours (a full 28 days) a year shoveling shit on a farm, digging ditches, or other menial jobs that normal folk have to do every day. They do NOT get any cushy position, they do not get any help beyond what the job itself requires, they do not get to sit and do nothing and call it a day. If they cannot do the job, they will be not only made fun of publicly but openly called out, and citizens can throw rotten tomatoes at them if they fail in their duties.

EDIT: For extra fun, they will be legally required to paint chickens on their house, car and wear a chicken hat to anything relating to government for the next four months.
