My coffee maker has a "strong brew" option. It regulates the water to drip over the ground slower, which does make the coffee stronger. My question is why wouldn't you use this? Seems like a waste of coffee not to.

Never heard of it I will give it a try I’ve found a French press gives me the most consistently decent flavor

French press is the way for me. Easy clean up.

The trick is to brew it for exactly 4 minutes, and adjust the amount of grounds as needed.

That said, I'm on a new campaign to kick cigs and coffee is a real trigger, so I've mostly cut it out. When I do need a warm drink to sip now I've beeing using roasted dandelion root tea instead.
