All my vintage stereo equipment. I'm trying to buy some vintage gear now and it's crazy expensive. If only I knew then.

was it considered vintage when you lost it?

[–] 1 pt

No. The gear i had wasn't considered high end or even sought after. It was just OK stuff.

Argh it's so tough predicting what will gain value and what won't

Rolls of 35mm black and white silent film for a hand cranked little movie projector. Each roll held about, idk, three minutes of what I guess was 15 fps moving pictures.

My ten year old brain loved seeing the celluloid burn. Almost blew up the furnace too. Dad should have killed me right then and there. Maybe it's the reason he started drinking in earnest.

I wish I had my comic collection from when I was a kid, divorce made lot's of shit 'vanish' so to speak. We gave my cousins the NES when Super NES came out. I wouldn't mind having that back. It's worked without fail this entire time. I wish I still had my old Mopar as well. Ah well it's nothing that keeps me up at night at any rate. I'd just buy em again if I really cared.

You'd just put a rotary in the Mopar

I donated a whole set of cast iron cookware to someone and would love to have it again. I've been buying new pieces one at a time as I find ones I like.

oh man! but the folks who have it now are probably still using it! something about heavy objects like that, it's like you can't trash 'em

[–] 1 pt

Yep, they're still using most of them. They were a young couple we knew (the son of a friend and his new wife) and the only pan she doesn't use is the really small one that's not of much use anyway.

oh, the tiny one-egg size!?

I just picked up a Lancaster. New school version of old school quality. They’re pricey, but work way better than my 100 year old stuff

I had some test and electronics equipment that was given to me over the years. Never needed it so I gave it away...now you can't touch examples of that stuff for any amount. Only a couple of pieces, so it's not too bad I guess.

86 Monte Carlo SS lost to a fire my neighbors stereo wiring job caused.

My dad got my first car for me in a trade for doing some machinery. It was a 63 Ford Fairlane in original condition. Everything in it was original. It sat in a barn for decades. The original owner died and the car sat where it was last parked. I drove that thing everywhere until the engine blew. Got frustrated when attempting to replace the engine and sold it for $50. It's one of the few regrets I have in life.

Ohhh yeah I can feel the sting. $50, that's like a cheap steak dinner now

My first car was a 63 Ford Falcon. Should have kept that. Sold it for a 67 Ford LTD. Should have kept that one too.

Clothes. I didn’t realize they’d go out of style and be hard to replace.

A guitar... The guy robbed me basically.

My Delta tablesaw. 220v, could cut a 4x8 of plywood on it.

Damn

I say that frequently, esp since I now have a 30x50 shop.
