I was having a conversation about political correctness and mentioned my industry doesn't have it. Then I remembered Microsoft renaming "master branches" to main. He then mentioned that Adobe InDesign used to have Master Pages. Since I don't use that product, I'm not sure.

No idea. I remember years ago that they changed the language in PC hardware too. Your "main" harddrive (IDE) was called the "master", the rest were "slave".

(((They))) have also done a lot of work to get rid of the "parent, child" references in programming too. It's all so fucking tiresome.
