The Upper Midwest is the crown jewel of America and you shouldn't have much trouble assimilating there. Iowa, Nebraska, and the Dakotas are the most red of these states, but they're prone to tornados. Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin are also pretty red and are more similar to Northern Canada. You could also give Alaska a try if you are feeling extra based.
