Easiest way would be to get in on a work visa. Otherwise, our immigration is a mess right now because of the Trump shakeups. In terms of red states, can't help you much there except to say avoid the coasts. The large majority of our "red" states are in the south, and if you've lived in BC your whole life, the culture shock will be VERY real.

If you really want to change timezones come over to Ohio. Avoid the eastern seaboard like the plague. Even North and South Carolina will end up blue states at some point. Our next governor will be a H1B hire who claims to get rid of the state and local income taxes.

People will have different values than in BC. Why not move to Alberta?

The Upper Midwest is the crown jewel of America and you shouldn't have much trouble assimilating there. Iowa, Nebraska, and the Dakotas are the most red of these states, but they're prone to tornados. Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin are also pretty red and are more similar to Northern Canada. You could also give Alaska a try if you are feeling extra based.

Idaho, Montana, North or South Dakota.

Should be pretty easy assuming you can afford one of Trump's gold cards.
