I need 0.5 reading glasses, I bought a few in the pharmacy ranging from 0.5 - 1.0 and 0.5 is the best for me. I don't need much of a "zoom", but text is starting to get mixed and blurry and 0.5 is fixing it perfectly.

Anyway, the one's I found look horrible, but I bought them only as a test. Is there a place online to buy cheap reading glasses that ships world wide? Sure I could use Amazon, but I want to see (LOL) if there are any alternatives.

Around the age of mid-40, most people begin to develop age-related presbyopia which is caused by your eye lenses becoming less elastic and resulting in degraded focus on near objects and text. I'm assuming you're in this age range and needing only +0.5 diopter suggests you are at the beginning of the process. This is similar to my own experience but I have progressed up to requiring +1.25 diopter now. I too have shunned the notion of full prescription lenses, but that's mostly because I despise optical shop experiences. I may have to bite the bullet and see one if +1.25 starts becoming less effective for me.

I have been using inexpensive readers from SAV Eyewear for a few years now. They are not terribly stylish, but the ones I have currently have some premium features including anti-reflective coatings and rubberized arms on the frame. They are sturdy and lightweight but don't feel cheap. I got my first pair of SAV readers at the pharmacy, but I have a few more pairs from (((Amazon))) mostly as backups now. They run me around $20 USD for the style I prefer, but there are other styles that vary in price as well. These may fit your requirements and you may be able to find SAV Eyewear products at other retailers both online and brick-and-mortar as well, but I haven't tried searching as I have enough backups to last me a few good years to come.

Hope this helps.

I just hit mid 30s, but have been working a lot at the computer over the last year, often 10+ hours per day. Wore 0.5 today for the first time and it made a huge difference.

I checked SAV out, they look great, but unfortunately don't come in 0.5.

I went to the glasses shop and asked them to give me 0.5, 0.75 and 1 glasses to try on and see what works, and she just ignored me and kept pushing to get me in for an eye test. I just walked out and went to the pharmacy.
