It depends. Memory is a strange thing. I can't remember where things are in the house, but if there's a problem I'm working on, I will remember tiny details from years ago.

Memory is often tempered by importance. Your brain puts less importance on the location of objects that are relocatable but more importance on tasks and processes that require thought and planning. You're better geared for process-based thinking and memory than simple object property data storage.
I have c-ptsd and it makes my memory weird. I may forget things but I re-figure them out quickly. I have to watch a movie two or three times to remember it a year or two later. I have tons of hours in video games and they don't even feel familiar if I replay them except in very specific parts. It's kinda cool to note down a book I really enjoyed and then read it again two years later and it's new again. My bf can tell me the same stories over and over, though I've told him to shut me up if I do the same to him.
My logic is all there but my memory is full of holes. It's super odd apparently, but I have been dealing with it since I was a kid. It certainly makes me seem flakey but apparently not stupid. Most people don't notice it until they've known me a few years.
