You are a faggot for not installing TempleOS
You might want to install in a VM first. BSD sometimes doesn't play nice.
From what I've read, it's less automated than Linux in many tasks, and the updates are slower even than Debian. Think Slackware. SUPPOSEDLY, Steam works on it, but with a lot of tinkering to make the drivers and hardware play nice.
Dunno what your use case is, but couldn't hurt to try it. Just be aware that Linux and BSD only thing really in common is command line, and BSD lives in Commandline
It is great at a lot of things but having used *nix for something like 20 years I don't like it as a daily driver. You might also have driver issues on that hardware.
linux mint mate faggot... this is the way
It's a lot more hands on maintenance wise, and you get fewer updates. That said, my router ran great with it when I was running it. Give it a shot. Why not?
Personally I would try FreeBSD first though if you've never ran a BSD. It has the largest support.
Yes! Give it a test run. I used FreeBSD for years back in the 1990's and I really liked it. Finally, however. I succumbed to the lure of Linux, with its wider acceptance and resulting ease of use and software availability.
It has been a long while, the last time I setup a BSD system it defaulted to off instead of on. The security was great, but remembering what and where to turn on ports, permissions, etc. It was a week long setup.
