My go-to binoculars ended up falling and becoming uncollimated beyond repair although I wouldn't even know where to bring them. They're an old Japanese import from in the early '80s. Anyway, I need a new pair, mostly just viewing terrestrial things and use on a river Cruise boat. Boat shoreline about a half mile away. To nothing with crazy magnification just to be able to make out building structures. I hope this ask makes sense. The only thing I found on Amazon is either really expensive or really cheap both aren't really options. Thanks y'all.

Figure out what magnification you want. What were your old ones? Look them up by the magnification numbers and sort by price.

Great idea, thanks. I couldn't figure out the brand of the old ones I had which I find odd. I mean they weren't like super amazing but I definitely enjoyed them. I could dial those in really nice. My father and I found them while we were cleaning out a closet in the basement about 6 years ago. They were his originally.

Some AI programs have the ability to drop in a picture and search for similar things. I have used co-pilot (not endorsing it, if anyone knows a better one to use that doesn't have Microsoft bullshit or other tracking attached to it, please let me know and I'll gladly use that instead) to find the name of particular parts, which made fi ding replacements easy. I suspect you could do the same thing with these binoculars.

Vortex Diamondbacks. Good glass. Made in Murica. Unlimited, unconditional warranty.

If you can live with just a monocular view you can get a decent spotting scope for about $300. Mine is 40-60x

I have a pair of Nikons. Forget the model number but they're 8 power, I think they were $120 new five years back. So probably $200 now. Decent glass.

I just bought 2 pairs of Nikons. Wanting to do a shootout when they get in to see which might be better. Each was sub $120

Both pairs I have are Nikon. Both are 30+ years old and have served me well.
