Had a generational car. My mom bought a 1991 Toyota Camery new. My sister got it at 140,000 miles. I got it at 160,000. My cousin got it at 180,000. The body rusted out and fell apart at around 400,000 miles. He stuck the engine in a new body, and is still driving it to this day, though we've lost track of the mileage.

It's *Camry. I had one as my first car, it fell apart when it got over 200k.

Pretty awesome to swap a 400k mile motor into a new body.

255k but may be 3% higher or so due to 31" tires, not sure how long they were on there for.

Still going strong. 4x4 Tacoma I-4, '95.

nice dude, I bet you can hit half a million with that.

We'll see. I'm kind of hoping it'll die so I can have the the 3.4 V6 swapped into it, but maybe it'll never die if I'm hoping for that.

[–] 1 pt

If you are hoping it will die it'll never die. Thats just how it works.

I almost bought one of those for the mother-in-law. She's always going on about how she wants a truck for some reason, and I thought it would be funny to call her "Taco ma" due to her pickup, but it cost more than I felt like spending on her and bought myself a new car instead because I am a shitty son in law.

Work van had about 250,000 mi

[–] 1 pt

Was it gas?

[–] 1 pt

Yep, Dodge Caravan

[–] 1 pt

Really? a dodge? I'm pretty surprised.

My 2001 Lumina had 195,000 and then the crank pulley failed. Thankfully, it happened in a parking lot. Same car, and I had a brake line fail, also in a parking lot...a big empty lot outside of The Home Despot.

almost 200k on a lumina not bad.

I hoped to send it out in a blaze of glory (or not) in a LeMons race. Paint it up like a late 90s Winston Cup car. Specifically a mash-up between the 3 and 24 cars called The Intimidating Rainbow.

I might do that anyway if I can find the appropriate model kit.

[–] 0 pt

Wait you know about 24 hours of LeMons?

[–] 1 pt

365,000 on a 2003 F350

[–] 1 pt

Is it a diesel ?

[–] 1 pt

Yeah, it was - sold it - the old Powerstroke 6.0 everyone hated, but this one was bulletproofed

[–] 0 pt

I always wanted one of those. In a manual.

240k Toyota Yaris, thing starts up like a dream everyday. Add about a 750 miles every week as of late.

If something major fails on it, I'll probably end up replacing it rather than replacing the car.

185k miles on my last Benz. I think. Maybe. It's stupid screen where the odometer readout is shown died, though so it could be totally more than that. It's at least that many miles... probably more like 200k. That should be hardly anything for a Benz, but it's lived a rough life and needs loads of work now, so I threw it away and got a new one.

And by 'threw away', I mean I gave it to my wife because she announced that I shall do so and who am I to disobey?!

[–] 1 pt

See I never could see the appeal of benz. I like the idea and I hear they are reliable but never could see the appeal in the design style.

[–] 1 pt

Me neither, until I got one.

They sure are kind of fugly these days most of the time though, and have been for at least a couple decades now, with a few noteworthy exceptions.

[–] 1 pt

There are a few I think look good, but most of them I'll pass. Honestly I didn't even like BMWs all that much until I bought one.

[–] 1 pt

Personal car was 270000

Work truck 397000 Duramax diesel was a beast

[–] 1 pt

I'm not sure if diesel's count those things go a million miles routinely. Especially the old 1960s ones.

[–] 1 pt

380,000

[–] 0 pt

What was it?

[–] 1 pt

something I own now, so gotta be vague: a "big 3" SUV from the 1990s

[–] 1 pt

Noice. My bets on GM product.

[–] 1 pt

Nice try NSA

I had a 79 Chevy Caprice with 250k, the guy who bought it from me hit 300k with it.

On the other side, I've never had a 'brand new' car. The lowest mileage I've bought a car with is 12k.

[–] 3 pts

Best I can do on the new car thing is 6 miles that is the lowest amount of miles I've ever owned a car with.

With Carvana delivering to your home, or close to it, and their return poliicy, I might be done with new cars.

[–] 1 pt

Oh I did it once and that was fucking plenty. I lost so many thousands of dollars on that stupid car. It was fun to drive don't get me wrong but so much money flushed down the toilet.

[–] 1 pt

My MR2 Spyder only had 3 miles on it somehow!

[–] 1 pt

Nice, those things are still too damn expensive used.
